Some were mean, some were smart, and some were dumb and lazy. But as a human being and a student, I liked roommates who were honest, kind, smart and diligent most. The guy that I share my room this summer is a Taiwanese American. He still thinks he is a Taiwanese rather than an American. He immigrated to the states when he was 15. I treat Americans and other international students in different ways and his ill-defined nationality identity confuses me. Oh, no. I don't mean that I discriminate people based on his nationality. Still, there are some topics that I don't want to talk with depending on his/her nationality. It will be very awkward for me to chat with a Japanese about how much I am upset with Japanese textbook, which does not tell atrocities they made in the past. Any way, my roommates became so lazy recently and that bothers me. It is none of my business. Still, whenever I see him playing that dumb computer game all day long or watching the dumb television program for hours, I was about to say "move your lazy ass and do your homework". But I know I should not say that.^^ I am lazy too from time to time, right? |
