I have a big presentation coming up with the S-S corporation. They are known to be picky. I have to analyze, market research for their new product. Personally, I don't think there will be a damn market for that product. But, what the hell, let them hear what they want to hear. That's what I'm paid for. That's the trick in this business. Just about when I'm about to wrap up my report, i get a call from my wife. She tells me she's two months pregnant. I'm all surprised and happy. Happy for her and happy for me. I tell her I will be going home early, today. I tell her about the wine I bought. We hang up. I'm a father now. That easy... I try to remember my wife's face again. I still can't. She has nice voice. A very feminine voice. Now I know that. She must be pretty. She loves me. I'm not sure if I love her anymore. But I must love her. I'm a father now. I'm thinking of her all the time. I must be in love with her. But,... something's missing... I pull out my wallet to find her picture. She has long hair...It must be an old picture of her. She's gorgeous. She's smilling at the camera. I know I took that picture. Memory is faintly coming back. And I cry. I don't know why. I never cried before. I didn't cry when my mother passed away. A sudden emotional break down. Some say men are only supposed to cry three times in their lives. I don't care. I have to cry. I drive back home. My wife greets me with a smile. I now know why I love her. It's that smile. She had fixed a special dinner for us. We talk. We eat. We drink the white wine. And... we make love. I'm especially gentle not to hurt the baby. Our baby... We fall asleep. She falls asleep first. I play around with her hair. Not too thick, not too thin...perfect hairs. I fall asleep. |
