Last night I read Lost World, the sequel to Jurassic Park. There is a passage about 'dinosaurs under extreme stress.' When I was coming back from work today, I was suddenly reminded of the expression and what kinda stress they must be having, compared to that of human's. U know, when you get stressed up, the source of the stress is mostly social - well, mebbe you can feel like you're having the same kind of stress as other animals, like you don't have much to eat, or you met your natural enemy. But not usually. Our work, our family, our friends, our colleagues, superiors, what we aspire to be, what we did... these all work to make life stressful. Oh, yeah, and having too much to eat, having not much money to spend, and having too much to spend on. SO mostly what we humankind created gives us stress, many times too much. Perhaps it's too complex a world. Who would be happier(and having less stress, or at least stress less unbearable?), human or other animals? The answer now seems to be clear. Ah well. Maybe the next moment I'll be reading some escapist book, on Do or something. I gotta stop here. Thanx for reading this. |
