IMHO, "It.." in the last line indicates "Whatever [approach]" right before the word. and "...me" in the same sentence certainly represents the Generation X that the author is talking about. Therefore, the last sentence quoted above means that the "whatever" approach just comes out of me (like it is rolling out of me.) and the verb roll adds no meaning like smoothing other than 구르다.
