About the DIRTY English words disturbing Korean. Yeah, yeah, I agree with his opinion. Sometimes I want to turn the TV-set off because of the snobbish intellectual people. (Sorry. I must write some Korean to describe it) Some of them say like this(at least seems to me)[이때 말이죠, 미국의 initiative 와 incentive가 우리에게 큰 support가 되었고요. .....(중략)..... 기존의 power를 keep하는데에 아주 큰 도움이 되었어요.] if this trend keeps going, maybe in 10~20 years we should hear this kind of speech from the TV-set. [Identity가 deficiency한 people의 culture는 erase됩니다. 이제 우리모두 our people's culture를 outer world 로부터 protect합시다.] I know I'm exaggerating things. (very much) but there are things we should keep in mind. We learn English to enhance our(repeat OUR OWN) cultural horizon and viewpoint of the world. Not to follow what they did or to be like them. An Australian elementary school tested two groups. One group : Assembled the immigrants' children and taught them English thoroughly. The other : Assembled the similar children but first taught them their mother tongue and after they mastered it taught them English. The outcome ? Group 2(The latter one)'s lingual skill was superior to that of Group 1. My opinion : Learn your mother tongue(or father tongue :-) ) first, and on the basis of it, you can be an expert on any kind of lingual fields. The more I study English, the more I recognize my ignorance of Korean. A bientot. Mes amis.
