There probably is more than enough coverage of the trial itself. I would like to shortly comment about something a lawyer said during a TV interview. "A lot of people have gone to jail or to the chair with much less evidence." I do not know whether O.J.Simpson committed the murders. ( Although I tend to find it easier to believe that Simpson killed the two victims rather than that LAPD concocted and carried out an elaborate plan to frame the so called "hero" - LAPD is NOT that smart). What is important here is that "justice" was bought. It doesn't matter if O.J. was the real murderer or not. If he was truly innocent, a lot of other innocent people with much less money have gone to jail. (Remember. Most believe if O.J. did not get 9 lawyers, private detectives, his own forensics and DNA experts, he would certainly have been convicted.) If he was the murderer, well, he proved that the rich can kill with impunity. No punishment for the rich. Either way, the trial speaks volumes about the justice or lack thereof in the U.S. legal system. Sadly, the Korean legal system is not much better. In a way, much worse. I will elaborate on this point later on.(should be in about a week.) Those interested can go to SNU board. I will post a short piece about the legal system in Korea about a week from now. Take care.
