Cisco는 하드웨어 업체라서 그런지 용어도 하드웨어틱하더군요. 말씀하신 circuit도 connection의 다른 말일 뿐이고, session이 상위 레이어의 '연결'을 의미하는 용어라면 circuit은 하위 레이어의 '연결'을 의미하는 용어로 쓰이곤 하던데요. Cisco의 엔지니어들이 주도하는 어떤 RFC에는 Circuit이 이렇게 정의되어 있기도 합니다. Circuit : A general term idenitfying any one of a wide range of L2 connections. A circuit may be virtual in nature (e.g. an ATM PVC or an L2TP session), or it may have direct correlation to a physical layer (e.g. an RS-232 serial line). (하략) |
