| [ Christian ] in KIDS 글 쓴 이(By): Robin (Joseph) 날 짜 (Date): 1996년02월09일(금) 08시25분31초 KST 제 목(Title): Christian Board 의 논쟁과 친구의 글 안녕하세요. 하나님을 믿기 시작한지 얼마 되지 않는 초심자입니다. 어느 분 말마따나 '막 쪄낸 찐방' 단계에도 못 이르른 '막 시작된 반죽'에 불과한 사람입니다. 그러다보니 하나님을 알고 싶은 욕심은 그 누구보다 크지만 그 앎의 욕심에서 들어 온 'Christian Board'에서 많은 혼란을 겪고 있는 사람이기도 합니다. 강민형님과 하야니님등을 비롯한 이곳의 여러 분들의 토론을 지켜보면서 참 믿음의 길로 들어서는 것이 '장난이 아님'을 절실히 느끼고 있습니다. 다음에 올리는 글은 이러한 제 심정의 토로에 대한 제 친구의 친절한 답변입니다. 친구의 글은 혼란에 빠진 저의 마음을 잘 다스려 주었습니다. 관심있는 분들과 함께 나누고 싶어서 올리는 글이오니 참고하시기 바랍니다. (여러분의 의견을 덧붙여 주신다면 더욱 고맙겠구요.) ------------------*-----------------------*-------------------------*--- I heard some nonXian correctly say that "We cannot understand God. If we could, He is not God any more." He is correct. God is beyond our intellect to understand. As I once told you in an example where a seminary professor asks the students, "Do you think God rides a bicycle or a tricycle," humans tend to try characterizing God by what they know. I believe God gave us Bible to understand Him THAT MUCH and nor more; and we are to obey Him and study what is given about Him. The world is run by two ways of thinking: Hebrewism and Helenism. The former says: "Believe and you will understand." The latter says, "Understand and only then believe." But as you know, the Helenism, though sounding reasonable and scientific many times doesn't work. What we believe as analyzable and scientific are after all all based on pure belief. For instance, all so-called scientific laws boil down to pure beliefs (conjectures) which for the time being fits the observation (natural phenomena) until a big misfit comes along and somebody can later provide was with a new paradigm to accomodate even the misfitting situation. What fascinates me is that most of us who wwouldn't believe in God will believe many other things for no better reason. For instance, most of us believe (or even think we "know" as fact) that Apollo 8(?) landed on moon. Did at really? (I believe so.) But once there was an article in a weekly magazine that the whole event was a hoax by NASA and that actually the space module landed on some desert in Nevada. Now, most of us didn't ride in the Apollo and went to the moon in person. Then on what basis do we believe that the space module was really at the moon and we were not cheated by NASA's camera work? I believe the passage in the Bible that goes: "육에 속한 사람은 하나님의 성령의 일을 받지 아니하나니 저희에게는 미련하게 보임이요 또 깨닫지도 못하나 니 이런 일은 영적으로라야 분변함이니라" (1 Corinthians 2:14) In general, I believe (and thus know) that those haven't experienced God would not believe in God. So don't bother much. It is better for a "beginner" in God to make efforts to know Him better. When you have reached some mature level, then it would be appropriate for you to start persuading others to convert. And such evangelization is effective when done by both His Word (Gospel) and deeds rather than just words (lip service, I mean, not His Word). That is, most nonXians are impressed and moved by difference in action of a true Xian. But when a chance is given, we should also boldly testify what (blessings) God has done to us and spread His gospel. Another reason I cannot but believe in God is from my observation that this world didn't just happen by some random probabilistic distribution. Everything in this world was DESIGNED with some purpose in mind by someone. My research concerns studying human leg muscles and how we walk. We have about 29 major muscle groups in each of our legs and not one muscle is made that way for no reason. Those who says God does not exist and this world was made by pure chance and that man evolved from amoeba are really stupid. It's like saying, "If I throw millions of 한글 자모 trillions of times, every million times on average those 한글 자모 combination will form a book like 황 순원의 소나기, Hawthorne의 주홍 글씨, Bible, 국민 교육헌장, etc." Look at the stars which seldom collide with each other but orbit around in perfect harmony and order! Look how even a petal of a flower is DESIGNED! God's touch and trail are EVERYWHERE? Who says God doesn't exist? If they knew everything about God, they would be God themselves.
