In an argument (or discussion, or chatting?) ambiguity should be avoided, especially when it is the subject of the discussion. I don't see any problem with Mr.parsec's being allegedly "narrow" in this context. You mean "faith" in one place and "conviction" in the other, and treat them one and the same by calling them "belief". I think mr.parsec rather consistently meant "faith" by saying "belief". Say, for example, when you're talking about sex, would you treat men and women as if they're same by refering to them as "men" (in English, you know, this is factually true) and accuse those who imply "men" = "males" of being narrow?
