Responsible for managing and developing world leading technical capabilities of company products. Duties: * Full managerial responsibility for technical staff, software development and customer support for the company. * Conceives, proposes and manages internally funded projects that will extend the capabilities of existing software products or will result in new software products to maintain a world leading position. * Manages externally funded client projects to ensure technical, time and cost objectives are met. * Seeks opportunities, within the framework of an overall company strategy, for external funding. * Visits clients to discuss problems, softwware development projects and, where appropriate, marketing of company products. * Planning of software development and manpower requirements * Provides guidance on complex technical problems. * Ensures conformance to QA standards and, where appropriate, recommends changes to improve the usefulness of the standard to the company. * Consucts performance appraisals for all supporting staff. * Assists in recruitment and training of new staff members. * Makes recommendations on selection, discipline, rating, pay and training of staff.
