Duties include the development and validation of manufacturing processes and techniques as well as fixturing and tooling. Qualified candidates must possess a minimum five years applicable experience as well as a BSME or equivalent. Thorough working knowledge of standard machine shop equipment and/or injection molding experience is a plus. MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Quality Dept.) Qualification: BS Mechanical Engineering, Preferred MS Degree. Min. two years of related industry experience. Responsible for the Quality Engineering aspect of the development effort. Work as part of the product team to work on designing in quality & reliability from the start using tools like QFD and Risk Analysis. Must have knowledge in stress/strain analysis, metallurgy, heat treatment, etc. Working with suppliers from the beginning to make sure suppliers chosen are qualified and can provide consistent quality; coordinate on going supplier quality monitoring/corrective action activities. Define manufacturing process requirements, TQC points, and inspection/test methods using tools like SPC, DOE, and process capability studies. Provide training and support for the incoming inspectors on test/measurement methods/equipment and specification clarification.
